Sonic Software Planning
Sonic (not to mix up with Sonic Team) was the team by Hiroyuki Takahashi and Yasuhiro Taguchi who controlled the direction of the series until Shining Force 3. Work on the first two games, Shining in the Darkness and Shining Force, was done together with Climax. Work on the last two games, Shining the Holy Ark and Shining Force 3, were done together with Camelot Software Planning with which the team merged after their split with Sega. After four years without a new entry in the series Sega decided to continue it together with Salamander Factory but without the involvement of any of the original creators.
