Nicknamed ホエー桑田 and 木工Quarter, Hiroyuki Kuwata is known as a Glodia programmer, as well as being among the trio which left Telenet Japan, to establish and work for Glodia in 1987.
After the fall of Glodia in 1995, he moved to Square, to work as a Map Programmer for the famous third installment of the Mana-series, Seiken Densetsu 3 (Super Famicom, 1995). He continued to work for Square, with the Mana-series in particular, as he was credited as "Map Chief" on Legend of Mana, released for the PlayStation in 1999.
Around the beginning of the '90s, he programmed the X68000 version of a game called "Loopz" (ループス), this game is not developed by Glodia or Telenet, but by Mindscape. It seems to be related though, as Tenpei Sato, who also was a Glodia employee at that time, composed its music.
